What to do with comments

I want to try Disqus so I can get facebook and twitter integration. But I don’t want to lose the commentluv plugin…

Which would drive more comments? Users getting links back with the commentluv plugin, or the ability to login with facebook or Twitter.

I know there is a facebook connect wordpress plugin, but I’d heard a few negative things about it ( it adds the users to to your wordpress logons and it can cause a slow down on your site because of cache or lack of cache. I could use one of the twitter retweet plugins (http://www.dragonblogger.com/retweet-your-wordpress-posts-with-tweetmeme/ or http://danzarrella.com/beyond-tweetbacks-introducing-tweetsuite.html, but those don’t let you log into to leave a comment, they just let you retweet your comment.

I test most new plugins and features here before I move it to my other site that gets  a lot more traffic.

What do you think, move the comments to DisQus or Intense Debate and lose Commentluv or Keep the luv?

  2. Disqus is pretty good. I actually prefer that than Comment Luv. Anyway, it's up to you. Which do you prefer and which do you think is better? 😀

  3. I ended up installing disqus this weekend, but I'm having a few small
issues with how to configure the old wordpress comments. Because I'm
still getting emails about comments on the site that are not showing
up in Disqus. I have a ticket with disqus support but I haven't heard
    back yet.

  4. Disqus is the better, I think, but it and ID both have issues particularly when it comes to finding answers to questions and problems quickly. There's little between them. I just think Disqus looks nicer. I would say you get more interest from Disqus with its Facebook/Twitter tie-in, both of which are mighty convenient for people, than you do CommentLuv, which I did use once upon a time but don't miss.

  5. As you can see I ended up giving DisQus a try. Its been ok, a little better than my ID experience. But I'm still getting trackbacks and direct spam posted to my wordpress db. Not sure how that happens. Oh well I'll just let it run for awhile and see what happens.
I'm trying JS-kit on my other site, they now have google connect, facebook, and twitter integration.

  6. I am glad to post my views and points in this blog, but I must say that webmaster of this blog has done a very great job to make his blog more informative and more discussable but unfortunately everything is same here that more than 80% in this and other blogs post their comments for making spam!!!, so i will really all this spam links to google band tool, because webmaster makes blogs for making discuss and for sloving each other problems.
    thanks

    best deals–

  7. Just a Test comment. I've been alert of two comments posted on this post. But neither has shown up. They both looked spammy. So I'll post something of my own to see if it shows up.
